  4.     It's tempting just to send the Marines to Panama and clean up
  5. the mess, but I hope the U.S. no longer must play the role of the
  6. world's policeman (WORLD, May 22). General Manuel Antonio Noriega
  7. is a slimeball who needs to be dealt with, but let it be by the
  8. Panamanians, while the U.S. works with its Latin neighbors on a
  9. joint effort of economic resistance.

  15. who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution
  16. inevitable.

  22. communities toward drug-dealing tyrants like Noriega only
  23. encourages other would-be dictators. Democracy and human rights are
  24. more important than national sovereignty.
